POULTRY FARMING PROFESSIONAL LIGHTING
An increase in light exposure during the laying phase has been shown to encourage ovulation and egg production, while doing so for too long might lead to an increased risk of egg breaking. Conversely, reducing light exposure during the laying period can hinder ovulation and egg production. Therefore, the amount of time exposed to light during the laying period should be increased gradually; starting at 21 weeks of age, the illumination time should be increased by 30 minutes per week until it reaches 16 hours in the peak period of laying, after which it should be maintained for 16 hours. Finally, when the elimination period is near (around 59 weeks), the illumination should be increased once more by 30 minutes per week until it reaches 17 hours.
