FAQ

1.What is a lamp that is double-insulated?

To separate the live sections, double insulated lights have two levels of insulation built in. This additional insulation protects the fitting from becoming live in the case of a malfunction and lowers the possibility of an electric shock.

2.Are downlights with an IP65 doubly insulated?

Only IP65-rated shower units with 240V PREM Fire-rated downlights are double insulated.

3.Class 2 double insulated: What does it mean?
Double insulated Class 2 lights are designed to function without an earth wire. The live portions, including the cables within the fitting, are typically covered by two layers of insulation.

4.Is double insulation the same as class 2?
Due to the fact that class II appliances have supplemental insulation in addition to the standard insulation, these appliances are sometimes referred to as having "double insulation."
