These days, we use solar street lamps on a daily basis. They are found in both urban and rural locations, on major and secondary highways, in picturesque settings, and in courtyards, which greatly enhances the convenience of our nightlife. On the other hand, solar street lamps are outside. How do we troubleshoot and address issues that are easily impacted by the environment?

Problem 1: The street light can't light up at all
When a solar street lamp doesn't light up at all, there are often four causes. The most frequent one is a short circuit caused by flooding of the controller in the light pole. Therefore, start by looking for rust and water stains on the controller's terminal. If this occurs, water intrusion is probably the cause of the controller's damage. The resistance at both ends of the loop can be measured with a multimeter. In most cases, a short circuit occurs when the resistance is too low. The controller needs to be replaced right now.
If there is no damage or short circuiting of the controller, look for a battery issue. The voltage of the battery can be measured. You must replace the battery if you discover that it is not storing electricity.
If the battery is in good condition, you can investigate whether the solar panel is malfunctioning. Verify if there is output of voltage and current while everything is operating normally. If not, the solar panel has to be changed because it is damaged.
If none of the aforementioned inspections reveal any issues, there might be a problem with the light source itself. The LED light source must be powered on, and its ability to illuminate normally must be checked. There is an issue and a new light source needs to be installed if it does not light up.
Problem 2: Solar street lamp have a short lighting time
Even if there is adequate sunlight during the day, after using a solar street light for a while, one may find that the lighting time is limited and that it is impossible to give regular lighting on overcast and wet days. The street light has to be replaced with a new battery that meets the same specifications because the source of this condition is probably a battery issue that has diminished the battery's power storage capacity.
Problem 3: The light is always on and cannot be shut off after installation
Some clients could run into this issue when installing solar street lamps. After installation, the LED light source is activated and cannot be turned off. When this occurs, make sure the solar panel's positive and negative poles are connected correctly first. Make the necessary corrections promptly if the connections are inverted. After measuring the solar panel's voltage with a multimeter, compare the results to see if they are the same. It indicates quality issues with the solar panel if it is too small. To replace it with a new one, get in touch with the supplier.
Problem 4: Only a portion of the street light's lamp beads are functional
This issue is caused by two factors. First, this is easily caused if the light source is built using incorrect welding. As a result, the issue must be fixed by replacing the appropriate lamp beads and then welding firmly. Secondly, if the inspection reveals that all of the light sources are properly welded but that some of the lamp beads are dim, it is highly probable that the light source itself is flawed and that the entire street lamp head needs to be replaced.
Problem 5: The light source flickers
This phenomena has numerous causes. You can start by getting a new lamp. You should make sure the cable interface is in good contact since if the issue still exists after replacement, it can be related to the cables or something else. You should examine the battery if there is no wiring issue and the light source is still flickering. This is because the light source may flicker if the battery is experiencing power loss and the power storage is insufficient. Replace the battery as soon as possible.
Installing solar-powered street lights has several advantages, but proper management and maintenance are required, and issues should be resolved quickly to guarantee regular street light use.
