Choosing LED Recessed Lighting for Your Kitchen

At BENWEI, we’re big fans of LED lighting technology because of its many benefits.
- Because they don't have a filament that will burn out, LEDs survive longer than the majority of incandescent light bulbs and CFLs.
- As opposed to conventional incandescent or halogen lights, LEDs don't generate as much heat.
- In general, LEDs survive longer than incandescent, CFL, and the majority of halogen lights.
- LEDs provide a lot more design flexibility because of their tiny size and wide range of colour possibilities.
- LEDs provide incentives through rebates. To promote the adoption of LEDs, the State of Massachusetts provides incentives and rebates.
For these reasons, LEDs are an ideal option for recessed lighting in your kitchen (or any other area of your home, for that matter).
So, while selecting LED recessed lighting for your kitchen, what should you look for? To get some advice, we asked Susan Arnold, one of our fantastic lighting specialists in Waltham.
Take attention to the Kelvin scale (K). A light source at 2700K has a warm hue, whereas one at 3000K is brighter and cooler.
See the Color Rendering Index (CRI). This reveals the colour rendering quality of a light source. The ideal CRI for skin tones is 90.
Study the warranty. What is covered by the warranty? Who is the producer? What is the warranty period? (At least five years should have passed.) And how probable is it that the manufacturer or supplier will still be in operation if the warranty is for more than five years? It's crucial to think about where you're purchasing your goods.
We BENWEI have been in operation for about 13 years. Verify whether the fixture has a UL or ETL listing. Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. is referred to as UL, while Intertek Testing Services is identified by the mark ETL. In essence, these certificates provide you the assurance that the lightbulb has undergone thorough testing (the federal government regulates both companies). Take it as a recommendation.
These are two crucial considerations to bear in mind when using existing recessed fixtures:
1. Replacing lights always provide a dimmer adjustment difficulty (different dimmers affect LEDs differently).
2, As lower wattages and greater lumens are often launched, replacement lights frequently change. While purchasing these lamps, use caution, and think about getting a backup (so that they will match).
Excellent recessed lighting fixtures are available at BENWEI that are suitable for use in kitchens. Customers love these two product sets, which are very competitively priced.
This set has wall wash downlight trims, square downlight trims, adjustable gimbals, and downlight trims. Adjustables and LED Downlights. The "designer-look" that many of today's upscale residential and commercial environments want is offered by the sophisticated aesthetics and narrower aperture of LED downlights and adjustables.
