Choosing LED Recessed Lighting for Your Kitchen

Because of its many advantages, LED lighting technology is a favourite among BENWEI employees.
Because they don't have a filament that will burn out, LEDs survive longer than the majority of incandescent light bulbs and CFLs.
As opposed to conventional incandescent or halogen bulbs, LEDs don't generate as much heat.
In general, LEDs survive longer than incandescent, CFL, and the majority of halogen bulbs.
LEDs have a lot more design flexibility because of their tiny size and wide range of colour possibilities.
LEDs offer incentives through rebates. To promote the adoption of LEDs, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts provides incentives and rebates.
These factors make LEDs an excellent choice for recessed lighting in your kitchen. (or any other area of your home, for that matter).
So, while selecting LED recessed lighting for your kitchen, what should you look for? To get some advice, we asked Susan Arnold, one of our fantastic lighting consultants in Waltham.
Pay attention to the Kelvin scale. (K). A light source at 2700K has a warm hue, while one at 3000K is brighter and cooler.
View the Color Rendering Index. (CRI). This reveals the colour rendering quality of a light source. The ideal CRI for skin tones is 90.
Analyze the warranty. What is covered by the warranty? Who is the producer? What is the warranty period? (It should be at least five years.) And how probable is it that the manufacturer or supplier will still be in operation if the warranty is for more than five years? It's crucial to think about where you're purchasing your goods. Verify whether the fixture has a UL or ETL listing. Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. is referred to as UL, while Intertek Testing Services is identified by the mark ETL. In essence, these certificates give you the assurance that the lightbulb has undergone thorough testing. (the federal government regulates both companies). Take it as a recommendation.
Here are two crucial considerations to bear in mind when using existing recessed fixtures:
When dimming, replacement lights are never easy to find. (different dimmers affect LEDs differently).
As lower wattages and higher lumens are often released, replacement bulbs frequently vary. When purchasing these lamps, exercise caution, and think about getting a backup. (so that they will match).
