With effect from October 2022, Current Lighting Solutions, LLC and Cree LED, an SGH firm (Nasdaq: SGH), have signed a patent licensing agreement pertaining to Current's patents on KSF (also known as PFS) red phosphor.
A restricted, nonexclusive, worldwide license under U.S. Patent Nos. 7,358,542; 7,453,195; 7,497,973; 7,648,649; 7,847,309; and 9,680,067 has been awarded to Cree LED by Current as part of the deal.
Cree LED products with Pro9TM technology, which uses potassium fluoride silicon (KSF/PFS phosphor), are covered under this license. The efficiency of LED components is increased by this phosphor, particularly those that provide greater CRI (Color Rendering Index).
Cree LED offers a wide variety of Pro9 LED products, such as high-power LEDs, J Series® mid-power LEDs, and XLamp® COB LED arrays. Customers of Cree LED who use Pro9-enhanced goods benefit from the LEDs' excellent color quality, dependability, and efficiency.
