Problem 1: The streetlight is inoperative.


Typically, there are four reasons why the solar street lights fails to illuminate entirely. The prevalent issue is that the controller within the light pole becomes inundated, resulting in a short circuit. Consequently, initially verify the presence of water marks and rust on the controller's terminal. If this occurs, it is highly probable that the controller has sustained damage from water infiltration. A multimeter can be employed to assess the resistance at both terminals of the loop. If the resistance is excessively low, it typically constitutes a short circuit. You must replace the controller now.

 

Check the battery if the controller is not damaged and short-circuited. Measure battery voltage. If the battery doesn't store power, replace it.

You can inspect the solar panel if the battery is fine. Check for voltage and current output in normal functioning. If not, replace the damaged solar panel.

If all the aforementioned checks pass, the light source may be the issue. Power the LED light source and check for regular operation. A new light source is needed if it doesn't light up.

 

Problem 2: Solar street lamps shorten lighting time


After a while, even if there is adequate sun at day, the solar street light may have a short illuminating time and cannot be utilized on gloomy or rainy days. The street light's battery may be malfunctioning and reducing power storage, thus it must be replaced with a new battery with the same characteristics.

 

Problem 3: After installation, the light stays on.

 

When installing solar street lamps, certain customers may have issues. After installation, the LED light source is on and cannot be turned off. First, check the solar panel's positive and negative poles for proper connection. Timely fix reversed connections. Measure the solar panel's voltage with a multimeter and compare. Too tiny indicates solar panel quality issues. Contact the supplier for a replacement.

 

Problem 4: Only certain street light beads operate.

 

This issue has two causes. This is easy to induce with fake welding in the light source. Thus, to fix the problem, replace the lamp beads and weld firmly. If the inspection finds that all the light sources are well welded but some of the lamp beads are dim, the light source is likely defective, and the street lamp head must be replaced.
 

Problem 5: Flickering light

 

This happens for numerous reasons. Replace a lamp first. If this problem remains after replacement, examine the cable interface for good contact. Check the battery if the light source is flickering despite no wiring issues. If the battery is dying and the power storage is low, the light source may flicker. Now, replace the battery promptly.

Solar powered street lights have several benefits, but they must be adequately maintained and managed, and faults must be resolved quickly to assure regular use.
