FLOOR WASHING

As the name implies, the floor washing effect illuminates the floor by skimming light across a floor or set of steps.

1. Move the light between floors

Floor washing provides additional low-level lighting in restrooms, hallways, and kitchens. It moves lights around the floor, illuminating the flooring and directing you throughout the room. They can be configured to function automatically upon movement detection if connected to a presence detector (PIR), making them perfect for hallways or restrooms.

2. Enhance the sense of spaciousness

The ideal substitute for installing downlights in a sloping ceiling above or in inaccessible places is to add low level illumination on a staircase. They will also occupy much less space than a decorative wall light, which can be advantageous if the staircase is small. especially helpful on basement stairs that receive little to no natural light.

3. Straight stair lights

Adding linear lighting beneath each tread creates a dramatic impact on modern open stairs. To make this work, careful attention to detail is needed.

4. Lighting for security

Recessed lighting installed in walls or floors can be used to illuminate exterior walkways and stairs. This can serve as a crucial safety feature as well as a decorative element to call attention to the lovely stone paving and to divide the eye visually between the garden's many levels.

5.Positioning

There are two possible outcomes in particular. One choice is to use a light that skims across the surface to draw attention to the texture of the floor finish. This ought to be embedded deeply into the floor or a wall. The second choice, which will produce a softer, wider lighting effect, is to place the lamp higher on the wall.
