How are LED strip lights manufactured? (Step13-24)

Step 13: Disassemble and Reassemble the 0.5m Strip Segments

After undergoing quality check, the 0.5m PCB sheets, consisting of 24 loosely connected strips, are detached and soldered end-to-end until the desired length is attained. I now consider it appropriate to designate the product as an LED strip light.

Step14: Quality Control Segment 6

After the segments are soldered, quality control verifies all connection points to ensure the complete strip illuminates correctly and maintains a steady temperature.
 

Step 15: Adhesive Tape Is Affixed to the Reverse Side of the PCB

Most LED strip lighting manufacturers provide their products with adhesive tape on the reverse side for installation. The 3M brand VHB tape is affixed to the rear of the strip. Utilizing a high-quality tape is essential to ensure a robust adhesive while also providing thermal conductivity, so reducing heat and extending the strip's lifespan. Inquire about the type of tape utilized on the reverse side of the PCB while evaluating vendors from other sources. Terms such as "upgraded blue tape" and "high bond tape" are often used, however they lack any substantive meaning regarding the tape's quality, durability, and lifetime.
 

Step 16: Solder Wire Leads and Connectors to Each Strip

Our work is not complete! The dimensions and connecting types may differ, although each strip generally includes pre-soldered wire leads.
 

Step 17: Adhesive and Heat Shrink Tubing are Applied to Wire Solder Junctions

Subsequently, many applications of adhesive are applied to the joints, and a heat shrink is affixed to reinforce the connection.
 

Step 18: Waterproofing and Weatherproofing for IP65 to IP68 Rated LED Strip Lights

OPTIONAL STEP: If the strip necessitates specialized waterproofing or a weatherproofing sleeve, it is transferred to the designated area of the production line for finalization prior to undergoing subsequent testing (Quality Control Part 6.2).
 

Step 19: Quality Control Age Assessment

Upon completion assembly, the strip is transferred to an aging chamber, where it is fully powered on and left for a duration of 8 to 12 hours. New strip designs are subjected to separate ovens for testing heat and humidity resistance.
 

Step 20: Quality Assurance Section 7

The strips undergo quality testing one more following the aging room prior to proceeding to the subsequent phase.
 

Step 21: Neatly Rolled onto a Reel

The strip is subsequently coiled onto a plastic reel. This protects the strip from damage and facilitates its transport and utilization in the field.
Important: Always detach the LED strip from the reel prior to utilization. Illuminating the strip while it remains on the reel may result in heat accumulation, potentially damaging the LEDs or diminishing their longevity.
 

Step 22: Quality Assurance Segment 8

The strip undergoes a final test before being packed in an antistatic bag, sealed, boxed, and dispatched to our distribution facilities.
 

Step 23: Arrival at Warehouse - Internal Testing - Quality Assurance Section 9

Upon arrival of the strips at our warehouse, a significant proportion undergoes an additional quality control process in which all components are meticulously verified. We evaluate the rigidity, strength, and consistency of the solder, thermal performance, and adhesive durability.
We do in-house testing to verify that the LED color temperature bins (3 MacAdam ellipses or fewer), color rendering index, gamut index, and fidelity index conform to specifications and remain consistent with prior orders. These are the paramount indications of illumination quality.
 

Step 24: Final Step - Quality Control Segment 10

Installation does not conclude our efforts. The ultimate quality control measure involves contacting each customer to ensure the product functions as planned and serves its intended purpose effectively.
