How Do Motion Sensors Save Me On Energy Costs?

While not a major inconvenience, turning the switch on and off as you enter and exit a room can be clumsy. especially if you don't have many employees with you. However, leaving the lights on is still a waste, so what do you do? Why not make them active by moving around?

Installing motion sensors in your commercial lighting can ensure that they remain on while you or your staff are moving around. For areas like the kitchen or laundry room, where you frequently have your hands full entering them, motion sensors are great. Energy is conserved by using lights that turn on only when anything is happening. As a result, energy expenses are decreased. But how do they function to reduce your power costs?

CONCERNING OUR MOTION SENSORS

To ensure that your motion sensors work properly, install your high bays no higher than 49 feet. You won't need to be concerned about humidity-related issues if your device has an IP65 water-resistant classification. When placed on a fixture, each LED high bay will have a 26-foot-long detection zone and a 150-degree sensor pattern that will detect movement.

For our linear or UFO type fixtures, there are two distinct versions of motion sensor, so make sure you get the right one.

WHAT IT DOES

Our sensors for motion produce microwave pulses. This particular active sensor fires energy pulses into the air to time how long it takes for the pulses to bounce back off of nearby objects. Our motion sensor is the perfect security option since it can detect minute movements and avoid obstacles. It can, however, also set up erroneous alerts. Make sure the motion sensor is accurately calibrated when you install it to help mitigate this.

Three-Step Dimming

Our high bay linear and UFO lights include 0-10V dimmable LED drivers, so they can dim automatically. The motion sensor won't turn on your LED high bays when there is adequate light from other sources.

When it becomes dark, activity will turn on the lights. When further sources of movement are not identified after the hold time, the sensor will dim the LED high bays. Your lighting will be turned off if the motion sensor detects no movement.
