It is crucial to remember that after you cut the LED strip you purchased, the portion that is left will no longer work. You'll need to use an extra 4 pin connector to reattach them after cutting. The LED strip, however, can stop functioning properly if you cut and connect it wrongly. Therefore, to prevent needing to reconnect later, we advise that you double-check the length of the strip before cutting.

You'll need an additional 4-pin connection if you need to repair severed LED light strips. This component often isn't included in packages of LED light strips and has to be bought separately.

1. Purchase a suitable 4Pin connection

You must choose the right light connection item depending on the kind of light strip since there are various options available. The 4Pin connection you choose must be 10mm wide if your light strip is 10mm broad. If you purchase a 10mm connector and your light strip is 8mm wide, it will not work.

2. Disconnect the connection

You must open the connector's cover from the side if it has one.

3. Connect the light strip to the connector

Put the LED light strip's two cut ends into the connector's connecting clips. Now, make sure they are not in reverse by referring to the shown directions.

Protect the connection in step four.

After attaching the light strip, close the connection cover, and after connecting the power source, make sure the light strip is lit properly. If the connected components do not light up properly, adjust the connection point between the connector and the light strip.

In general, it might be challenging to rejoin the strip after cutting, even bespoke led light strips. You'll not only need to buy extra connectors, but any mistakes might make the strip unusable. Therefore, it's crucial to check that the required length is accurate to save waste.
