The general requirements for installing light bulbs in the chicken coop are small wattage, many bulbs, and short lamp spacing, in order to achieve uniform light and irradiate the water trough, the bulbs should be set on the aisle between the two rows of cages, and the lamp distance is 3 meters.
If more than two rows of bulbs are installed, each row of bulbs should be cross-arranged, so that the ground can obtain more uniform light, the height of the lamp is 2 ~ 2.4 meters is appropriate, the bulb with incandescent lamp is better, the lamp head should be set up with a lampshade, so that the gathered light is facing down, as far as possible not to let the light directly irradiate the upper chicken cage, 1 square meter area with 2.7 watts, can provide about 10 lux of light. In order to take into account the illumination of the lower layer of the chicken coop, each square meter should reach 3.5 watts.
Light intensity can be measured with a lux meter, but general chicken farms and farmers do not, so the simple formula I=k· W/H2 is calculated. where I is the light intensity, k=0.9, W is the wattage of the incandescent bulb used for artificial light, and H is the distance from the bulb to the chicken body.
