At the time, fluorescent bulbs were the most cost-effective and energy-efficient lighting option for workplaces, warehouses, and other industrial and commercial spaces. As technology advances, people want better answers.
In response, LED technology arose. There are several reasons why LED light tubes are growing more popular in commercial lighting and other sectors.
An LED light tube installation guide is available if you are investigating this sort of illumination or are persuaded of its many benefits.
What are LED tubes
LED bulb tubes are inexpensive, energy-efficient, and versatile. They have greater colour rendering, are cheaper and more energy-efficient (common T8 LED lamp tubes are 30% more energy-efficient than fluorescent T8 light tubes), are dependable, have fewer maintenance costs, and fail less often. They also fit on old lights, making it easy to replace fluorescent bulb tubes with LEDs.
LED light tubes are flicker-free and adjustable in color temperature. LED lights may dim and are cheaper than conventional tubes. Since they contain no mercury, LED lights are eco-friendlier.
The letter "T" classifies LED light tubes by thickness; T5, T8, and T12 are available. "T" is one-eighth of an inch, and the number shows how many eighths the tube (or bulb) is broad. The T8 LED tube is one inch (8/8).
Lower fluorescent tube numbers mean more light efficiency. LED lights don't always do this.
Guide to LED Tube Installation
1. Turn off electricity. This matters. You might receive an electric shock functioning otherwise.
2. Remove old tube. Turn off the power and unhook all cables. Take care.
3. Secure the old tube. Be careful with fluorescent bulbs, which contain trace mercury. Ingestion may induce poisoning.
4. Check ballast. All fluorescent tubes have electrical or inductive ballasts (buzzing or flickering indicate inductive).
5. Remove electronic ballasts. Left in situ, it may harm your LED bulb. Simply unhook the wires, remove the ballast, and reconnect. Make sure the connection is solid.
6. Remove or bypass magnetic ballasts. Many LED light tubes include starters for simple installation. If you must circumvent the magnetic ballast, consult specialists to prevent hazard.
7. Connect new LED tube. Don't haste while attaching it to the fixture. Slow down to establish a good connection. Matching the live and neutral wires of each LED tube is necessary for installation. A specialist must rewire a short circuit (both wires at one end).
8. Verify all steps. Make sure you followed the instructions and connected everything before operation.
9. Turn on electricity. Make sure it works. You may be accustomed to tubes flickering and buzzing, but LED tubes should not. If these noises occur, repeat the instructions or call a specialist.
10. Handle old tube properly. Fluorescent tubes contain mercury, thus you cannot throw them away. Find a local recycling service for such waste. LED tubes may be thrown out, however recycling is better.
One last thought
LED tubes have fewer maintenance costs, higher color quality, and are cheaper and better for the environment. LED tubes don't need as much care as fluorescent tubes, and their versatility means you'll find the ideal fixtures. For more details about our offerings, please contact us at bwzm18@ledbenweilighting.com.
