1. Falsely mark product parameter
The price and profit of LED street lighting are falling together with their popularity. Due to the intense rivalry, several companies start to jerry-build and inaccurately label product characteristics. This is a result of the consumers' constant price comparison and low pricing expectations, as well as certain manufacturers' business methods.
2. Counterfeit chips
The chip is at the heart of LED lighting fixtures and directly affects LED bulb performance. However, some dishonest sellers take advantage of consumers' lack of professionalism by using inexpensive chips and low-cost chips to convince consumers to purchase low-quality goods at high unit costs, resulting in direct financial losses for the purchasers and serious quality-related hidden issues for LED lamps.
3. The copper wire was passed off as gold
To replace the pricey gold wire, several LED producers are working to create a copper alloy, gold-coated silver alloy wire, and silver alloy wire. These substitutes are better than gold wire in certain ways, although they are not as chemically stable. For instance, sulfur, chlorine, and bromine readily erode silver wire and gold-coated silver alloy wire, whereas copper wire readily undergoes oxidation and vulcanization. These substitutes diminish the dependability of the light source, increase the risk of the LED lamp bead breaking and dying over time, and increase the vulnerability of the bonding wires to chemical corrosion for encapsulated silica gel, which is comparable to a water-absorbing and permeable sponge.
4. Unreasonable design of the light distribution system
The lighting effect won't be perfect in terms of optical design if the street lamp's light distribution system is not constructed sensibly. There will be "zebra crossings," "uneven lighting," "yellow circles," and other issues throughout the test.
5. Poor heat dissipation design
In terms of heat dissipation design, if the PN junction temperature of an LED chip rises by 10 degrees, the life of semiconductor devices will be reduced by multiples. Due to the hard operating conditions and high brightness requirements of LED streetlights, if the heat dissipation problem is not adequately resolved, LED aging and decreased stability will occur quickly.
6. Power failure
In terms of drive power supply, if there is a power supply failure, there will be "the entire light out," "partial damage," "specific LED light bead dead," and "the whole light flicker virtually brilliant" phenomena during testing and inspection.
7. Safety failure
Also, the security component demands careful consideration. Street light ballasts are of poor quality, the power supply lacks leakage protection, the circuit breaker's sensitivity calibration has not been checked, and the rated trip current is too high. Utilizing a cable with a metal skin as the PE main line is difficult and unreliable. The IP classification for dust and waterproofness is insufficient.
8. There are substances harmful to the light source in the lamp
Major LED firms often experience an issue known as blackening of the LED light source. It is necessary to look into the majority of lamp materials for chemicals that shorten the life of the light source.
