UV 395nm light is at the boundary of the UVA band in the ultraviolet spectrum. Unlike lesser UV light wavelengths like 365nm, the 395nm light source emits violet light that can be seen by the human eye. This gives it a purple light when operating, but its ultraviolet emission still does its job.


Main applications


Fluorescence excitation is the major use of this wavelength light source. Certain security inks emit fluorescence for cash and document anti-counterfeiting verification in the commercial sector. It triggers chemical reactions with photoinitiators to cure resins and adhesives in industry. It is also utilized in entertainment, stage effects, and mineral and jewelry identification.


Use Safety Instructions


Although 395nm is in the UVA band, its photon energy is lower than UVB or UVC, therefore safe operation is still important. Avoid direct light exposure to skin or eyes. Prolonged or close-range exposure might induce skin reddening or photoconjunctivitis. Users should wear UV glasses and cover the exposed area.

Consider power output (irradiance) and light homogeneity when picking a UV 395nm device. LED technology has become common due to its constant wavelength output, longer lifespan, and decreased heat emission. To ensure the effect, choose the right power and irradiation area for the equipment based on the application scenario (small-scale detection or large-scale cure).


Tips for Operation and Maintenance


Avoid frequent switching cycles to maintain equipment performance and lifespan. To avoid quick light attenuation from overheating, ensure the LED has good heat dissipation during prolonged operation. Dust and stains should be removed from the LED lens to maximize light output. Keep equipment cold and dry when not in use.
