Which is better, LED strip or COB strip?

Ordinary LED strips consist of individual diodes arranged along a flexible strip at intervals of a few millimeters. Accent lights, signs, and areas where the strip is not visible are all excellent uses for them. The only drawback is that they emit observable light dots that seem out of balance, especially when the light source is visible or on shiny surfaces.

But chip-on-board LED strips are better. With COB technology, dozens of small LED chips are arranged closely together on a single substrate to produce a string of light instead of separate diodes. This produces a more uniform, dot-free light that looks smoother and more polished. Therefore, COB strips are typically the answer if you need uniform illumination, such as on display shelves, beneath counters, or in building construction.

In the majority of applications, yes. COB LEDs produce a softer, diffused light, disperse heat more effectively, and output more light per watt. In applications where the light source is visible, they work very well.
