From inside cove lighting for homes and offices to outdoor feature lighting, the options for using LED strip lights are practically limitless. However, how can you select the most suitable LED strip light from the numerous accessible options? Fortunately, we're here to help you make sense of it all by explaining the many kinds of LED striplights, as well as the technologies and uses for LED chips.

Lights for COB LED Strips
A linear, smooth, and uniform appearance is achieved with COB Strip lights, sometimes called the "no dots" LED strip light. To find out more about them and how they vary from standard LED strip lights, read this article.

How can I tell the difference between SMD 2835, 3528, and 5050 LED chips, and which is the best?
The LED chip is directly attached to the strip; this arrangement is known as a "Surface Mounted Device" (SMD). The actual size of the LED Chip is simply denoted by the numbers that follow the SMD. The LED chip measures 3.5 mm in height and 2.8 mm in width when it has the SMD 3528 designation.
The two most common types of LED light strips available today are the 5050 and the 2835.
Though 5050 LED chips are capable of producing RGB colour selections, both choices are dimmable.
While 5050 LED strips may generate up to a thousand lumens per metre, 2835 SMDs can only manage 360 to 720 lumens per metre, assuming they both use the same density of LED chips. Because of this, SMD 5050 LED Strips are a better option for efficiently lighting up bigger areas.

Inside or outside?
Striplights with an IP20 ingress protection rating are more than enough if you're just planning to put them in your house. If you want to use your LED strip lights outside, make sure they have an IP65 rating or above.

To what locations may I attach LED strip lights?
There is an almost infinite number of uses for LED strip lights. Just a few examples of common applications:
Using LED strip lights, you may illuminate your kitchen cabinets, make your bedroom feel more magical, or set the mood for a relaxing evening in your living room.
Restaurants, pubs, fitness centres, and retail establishments may all benefit from the elegant and eco-friendly LED lighting.
outside Architectural Lighting: Use LED strip lights to draw attention to building facades, make eye-catching architectural highlights, and brighten up outside areas.
As you make your selection, we hope this information has helped to clarify LED Strip Lights.
