Why Is UGR Important?

Thus, UGR is the measurement of glare in a certain area and is computed using the formula provided by the International Commission on Illumination (CIE).
This equation is basically the logarithm of the glare of all visible luminaires, divided by the illuminance of the surroundings, Lb, where L is the illuminance of each light source, w is the solid angle of the light source as seen from the observer and pn is the Guth position index, which depends on the distance from the observer's line of sight to each source.
