"Explosion-proof"
Not stopping the lamp's explosion: The major goal is to prevent internal electric sparks (from switch operation or line failure) or hot surfaces from igniting hazardous substances outside.
Application scenario: Petroleum, chemical, coal, aerospace, and grain and oil processing facilities may have air loaded with flour, coal dust, metal powder, or flammable and explosive gasses. An electric spark can cause a major explosion.
"Waterproof and oil-resistant"
Special surface treatment/sealing materials and high-level IP protection usually achieve this.
Waterproof: Keep water and condensation out of the bulb to avoid short circuits and corrosion. Likely needs IP65/IP66/IP67.
Protect the lamp's interior and shell from grease and oil stains. The lamp's sealing ring must withstand oil erosion, and the shell material (such as high-quality die-cast aluminum) and surface coating method must resist oil stains and corrosion.
