Emergency light tubes are essential to fire protection in business buildings, hospitals, and schools. Their major purpose is to illuminate personnel for safe evacuation in the event of a power outage. Emergency light tubes combine lights, energy storage, and clever control circuits. Because it looks like normal lights, we rarely notice the normal power supply. The charging circuit trickle charges the built-in battery to keep the energy reserve saturated, preparing it for possible disasters.
The power outage automatic switching mechanism
The emergency lighting system relies on acute awareness and flawless switching. The detector circuit inside emergency lamp tubes will promptly detect a voltage drop when a fire, circuit failure, or other mishap cuts off the mains power, putting the building in darkness. Nearly simultaneously, a "inverter" is engaged. It efficiently converts battery-stored DC electricity into AC or light tube-specific voltage DC electricity. This switching procedure is incredibly fast, usually just a few tenths of a second, ensuring no obvious and annoying light interruption and offering immediate visual advice for panicked people.

System self-maintenance and continuous power
In emergency mode, the lamp tube's lighting depends solely on the built-in battery. International and national safety laws set emergency lights durations to aid escape. Continuous lighting must usually continue over 90 minutes. The lamp head often automatically uses half-power or projects light spots at certain angles during this time. The main goal is now to clearly indicate evacuation routes, exit signs, and essential equipment regions for the longest safety time with the least energy usage. As soon as the main power supply returns, the intelligent management circuit will cut off the emergency output and charge the battery to prepare for the next emergency.

FAQ
Q: Emergency light tubes and ordinary LED tubes look the same. What are the differences between them?
A: The key difference lies in that the emergency lamp tube constitutes an independent emergency lighting system, while the ordinary lamp tube is merely a lighting component. The emergency lamp tube integrates a rechargeable battery, an intelligent control circuit, and an automatic switching device inside. When the normal power supply is available, it emits light like an ordinary lamp tube and charges its internal battery at the same time. When the main power supply suddenly fails, it can automatically switch to battery power mode in an instant (usually less than 3 seconds) to continue providing lighting. Ordinary LED lamp tubes, on the other hand, rely entirely on continuous external power supply and will go out once the power is cut off.
Q: How long can the emergency light bulb stay illuminated after the power is cut off?
A: Usually, emergency light tubes must be designed to provide at least 90 minutes of emergency lighting. This is to ensure that there is sufficient time for personnel evacuation and initial emergency rescue in emergency situations. Some specific application scenarios or higher-specification products may require a longer duration, but 90 minutes is the minimum standard.
