LED tube lights and regular tube lights are only two of the energy-saving options that are now on the market. What distinguishes regular tube lights from LED tube lights, then? Let's have a look!

What is LED Tube Light?

One kind of energy-efficient lighting that generates light using light-emitting diodes (LEDs) is an LED tube light. It is frequently used in homes, workplaces, industries, and commercial settings in place of conventional fluorescent tube lights (such as T8, T10, or T12 tubes).

LED Tube Light: How Does It Operate?

Electrical power is supplied to the LED tube via a ballast or straight from the mains.

A driver, which is a tiny electrical circuit within the tube, controls the voltage and current to meet the requirements of the LEDs.

This guarantees steady light production and shields the LEDs from power spikes.

Semiconductors are used to make LEDs. Electroluminescence is the mechanism by which electrons travel and release energy in the form of light when electricity flows through them.

LEDs emit light in a single direction, as opposed to fluorescent tubes, which emit light in all directions.

To disperse light uniformly and lessen glare, the tube typically incorporates a diffuser cover made of transparent or frosted plastic.

Types of LED Tube Lights

T8 LED Tube: 1 inch (about 26 mm) diameter - most common.

T5 LED Tube: Thinner, more efficient.

T12 LED Tube: Thicker, older standard - being phased out.

Advantages of LED Tube Light

New environmentally friendly light source

LEDs use a cool light source, have no radiation, no glare, and don't release any toxic chemicals when in operation. Using the direct current driving approach, LEDs have a low operating voltage, a low power consumption of 0.03 to 0.06 watts per tube, and an electric light power conversion of about 100%. When compared to conventional light sources, LEDs may save over 80% while maintaining the same lighting impact.

LEDs are better for protecting the environment since they don't emit UV or infrared light, and their waste can be recycled because they don't contain mercury or other pollutants. It is a common lighting source for environmental protection and is safe to touch.

long life

LEDs are solid cold light sources that are sealed with epoxy resin, have no loose parts within the tube light body, are anti-vibration, and are not susceptible to heat buildup, light decay, or easy combustion. Up to 60,000 to 100,000 hours of use may be achieved, which is more than ten times longer than that of typical light sources.

LED tube lights operate steadily and may be used in temperatures between -30°C and +50°C.

Adaptability

The red, green, and blue color principles may be used by LED light sources. With the use of computer technology, the three colors can have 256 grayscale levels and combine at random to create 256x256x256 colors, which is a mixture of many colors. LEDs can provide a wide range of color changes, as well as dynamic transformation effects and different visuals.
